North Carolina tops job loss percentage

Wow, this morning the Charlotte Business Journals had a report that North Carolina, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, has had the largest percentage of job loss in November.

According to the commission, the number of N.C. workers with jobs fell by 58,621 on a seasonally adjusted basis in November. That drop accounts for more than half of the 112,300-job decline in the last 12 months.

It's not that surprising considering the news lately, but also not exactly the most reassuring of information either. But the important thing to remember is that the holidays are a time to reflect on what we do have. Yes, there have been plenty of jobs lost, but there are still employers hiring. Just swing over to EmploymentGuide.com and you can see that there are jobs available. You can even check out our Carolina Jobs Tumblr where we post our printed editions of our papers in Raleigh, Greensboro and Charlotte every week. Keeping your spirits up and staying proactive in your job search are going to help most in this time.

So enjoy this time with families and friends. Use this time to reconnect with ex-coworkers or long-lost friends. You never know, it could be beneficial to your job search.

From all of us at EmploymentGuide.com, we'd like to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Charlotte is a great place to live and work... a great place for young people as well!
