Have a Nutty New Year!

It's a bird! It's a plane! No... It's an acorn! Kind of hilarious that Raleigh made TripAdvisors' Top 10 list for quirkiest New Years Events. Saw this on 30THREADS awhile back.

This tradition, called First Night Raleigh started about 18 years ago with about 20,000 spectators. Since then, attendance has more than doubled. Artsplosure puts it on and there is plenty to see and do: music, dance, theater and comedy at some two dozen plus downtown locations that go on leading up to midnight.

You can check out this year's shedule here.
Charlotte doesn't have a falling acorn but there are plenty of things going on to keep families and party goers entertained. So whatever North Carolina City you're in, there's plenty to do to ring in the New Year.
Have a Happy and Safe New Year from The Employment Guide of the Carolinas! See ya in 2009!
